This camera has been Converted and completely serviced by a Master Bolex Tech Jean-Louis Seguin As follows:

This is a hybrid Bolex H-8 Rex and Bolex H-16 Rex-4 camera. - Modified by Jean-Louis Seguin

• Uses Regular R8 rolls. Not 16mm film. It has the H8 pull down. Using 16mm film will destroy the film.
• Each frame is shot on two adjacent side by side R8 frames. Thus the 2.8 widescreen.
• Viewer shows the 2.8 aspect with two thin vertical lines in viewer for a 2:1 aspect if user wants to frame for 2:1
• Uses C-mount 16mm RX lenses, NOT H-8 RX lenses.
• Nicholas Kovats in Toronto, Canada, keeps an email list on all aspects of movie making including UP8 2.8 In fact it was Nicholas who came up with the idea of such a format years ago, and worked with Jean-Louis to create a working camera.

• Super Cinema Scope aspect ratio.
• Professional complete conversion with a wide 2.8 viewer and 2:1 markings in viewer.
• Bolex H-16 mechanism with R8 sprockets.
• Governor was modified to accommodate running R8 film.
• Each frame is shot on the two adjacent R8 frames. So you run the roll once.
• Uses Double R8 film rolls.
• Uses 16mm C-Mount RX lenses (NOT H8 RX Lenses)
• Uses all motors (like Tobin Time Lapse and Animation motor or Tobin Crystal drive motor) on the 1:1 drive shaft

Camera was serviced during process to insure a perfect running.
Speeds of the camera were tested and adjusted.
Film auto-loading was adjusted.
Camera was re-sealed to avoid any light intrusion.
Tested with film for scratches and perfect running.
