About Kodak

Kodak has a history of innovation that reaches back even before George Eastman coined the famous trademark “Kodak” in 1888, with the introduction the first “point-and-shoot” camera. Three years earlier he had invented roll film, the foundation for motion picture film—in his mother’s kitchen!

Since then, in more sophisticated facilities, the Eastman Kodak company has achieved several additional industry firsts, including the first 35mm color film (Kodachrome in 1936) and the digital camera (1975).
